Pt. 2 Vintage Sleeping Beauty Dessert Table

11th March 2014

The dreamy dessert table for my Abby’s Vintage Sleeping Beauty Inspired Birthday Bash was one of my favorite parts of the party! I used pieces from my collections of minted and vintage cake stands, cake plates, and compotes in pink, aqua, and glittery gold. I really wanted the dessert table give off the feel of being in Disneyland and walking up to the Sleeping Beauty castle, so I recreated the castle banners (from scratch!) in coordinating colors and put one at each end of the table, I adored how they turned out! The backdrop was designed by Itsy Belle Studio (she also designed the invitations!) and printed by my hubby Polydot Print Specialists.

My dessert ladies did an excellent job at incorporating the color palette into their sweets which made them all look real cohesive on the table. Mallory, from The French Confection Co., outdid herself on the main cake! One of the many reasons why I love working with her is because you just give her an idea and she runs with it! I didn’t want a full blown castle cake, rather I wanted it to have Sleeping Beauty castle elements. I love that she is open to new challenges and techniques in cake, that’s why this girl is soooo good! She made matching French macarons (with gold flecks!), homemade marshmallows, two side cakes that represented Princess Auroras pink and blue dresses, mini raspberry tarts, and yummy crown topped cupcakes.

Melanie, from Melanie Rose Baking, is wonderful to work with as well because she starts off with a mood board of all the ideas she has for my cake pops, mousse shooters, and mini cupcakes. Her cake pops always come out looking perfectly smooth and flawless! I loved her mini raspberry cupcakes that she topped with a fresh raspberry and gold glitter!

The newest vendor I had the pleasure of working with was Veronica, from Ronisugarcreations, she made the most beautiful (and delicious) chocolate and caramel coated candy apples! I had her apples on both the dessert table and the little princess table. She’s located in San Diego, so luckily for me I just had my aunt bring them on her way up to the party…I just had to have her apples on my tables, she is that good!

Of course I couldn’t go without using La Tavola’s sequin table linens in blush for both the dessert table and royal princess banquet table, prior to this party I was dying to be able to use them for my personal events. Kinda pricey (for a kids birthday party) but super worth the result, I think everything looks better sequined! This table was PERFECTION, a big thank you to all my talented dessert ladies for helping me make my dessert table dream come true! Enjoy more photos by Brianna Muniz Photography!
