Part 2: Mommy & Me Tea Party

28th November 2012

Part 2 of this Mommy & Me Tea Party was my favorite part, we got to enjoy the beautiful set up! I will cherish this little tea party with my sweet girl forever. It was special to me in so many ways. My daughter is my second born, before her I had my wonderful son. I embraced having a boy, Legos, trains, superheroes and all and although I was obsessed with my son, my heart still longed for a little girl. The Lord was so gracious to answer my prayers for not only another child, but a girl, and a healthy one at that…I am forever grateful to Him.

Children are such wonderful blessings, I cherish time spent in the company of my babies. I don’t take their existence lightly, many times everyday tasks, routines, and frustrations make me take their presence for granted but every morning and night I take the time to thank God for their beating hearts. It is because of this blessing that I really love to celebrate the beautiful day they were born in a special way!

For my little dolls 2nd birthday, I thought it would be perfect to celebrate by having her first tea party with some of her favorite vintage strawberry shortcake rag dolls and me. This was her very first tea party, we practiced sipping out of tea cups in our pjs at the breakfast table before but that’s as far as our tea party went. So she had a blast getting to play in her pretty little tea party dress (I lovingly handmade for her) and enjoy everything at her reach. This time I wasn’t telling her not to eat too many sweets or not to touch the delicate china, I let her have fun because it was all about her, it was her special day. I just loved getting us all dolled up and doing what she loves the most: sipping “tea”, eating sweets, blowing bubbles, and applying lipgloss!

For those of you contemplating on whether you should do a full blown birthday party celebration for your daughter again or keep it small and intimate I would suggest you give the latter a try! It really is much more special when you get to enjoy the birthday girl and give her all your undivided attention. I could imagine how much more fun it would be for those of you mommies who have more than one girl!

I am so grateful to Brianna Muniz from Sienna Rose Photography because she captured these precious moments with my girl so that I can look back at them and enjoy her 1st little tea party forever. With that said I hope you enjoy these sweet images of me and my girl…
