I had the pleasure of helping my sister plan and style my God daughters 1st birthday bash this past February. We went with a Vintage Ice Cream Parlor theme! As you can probably tell, I’m super obsessed with anything vintage, yummy, and pastel, needless to say this party theme was right up my alley!

The party was filled with so many adorably sweet details. From the custom designed invitations and backdrop party logo, the vintage-style handmade ice cream smocked birthday dress, ice cream cone party hat, hand stamped sprinkle tablecloths, dessert table awning backdrop, to all the yummy ice cream themed treats, everything turned out to be such eye CANDY!
The dessert table featured an old toy cash register, porcelain triple scoop ice cream cone (it’s actually an old cookie jar), and vintage ice cream scoopers (I bought on Ebay and hand painted in pastel colors). They added the perfect touch of vintage nostalgia to the table. I whipped up the easier semi-homemade desserts like cupcakes in mini sugar cones and paper sundae cups (actually nut cups), and mint chocolate chip dipped pretzels. I placed an order for the most ADORABLE ice cream cone cake pops (in BOTH mini cake and sugar cones!) and iced sugar cookies from super talented gals in San Diego! My sister placed an order for a super cute cake at Vons and I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out!
I have a great selection of pastel colored pieces, so picking out cake stands to match this theme was a breeze! I did source some specific pieces for an ice cream bar, like porcelain waffle cone cups (perfect for toppings), acrylic cone holders, and I scored an adorable wooden tabletop ice cream cart from one of my favorite antique shops.
My brother-in-law and hubby helped me construct the amazing backdrop for the table. It was so easy and cheap to make! The most tedious (and costly) part was the white duck canvas that I got at Joann’s (make sure to use a coupon!) because I had to hand paint the mint stripes and hand cut the scallop edge.
My precious little Goddaughter walking around her party in her squeaky vintage pink booties enjoying her big day was just the cherry on top! (Check out the adorable video to hear her squeaking as she learns how to walk with her Nina below)
